Consulting & Mentorship Services

Providing Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy (for SLPs and other voice professionals)
This offering helps support speech-language pathologists and other voice professionals to begin (or continue) working with transgender and gender-diverse clients when providing gender-affirming voice therapy. There is no specific or prescribed curriculum, as this offering is meant to provide support to whatever degree each individual needs - whether you are just getting started thinking about these services or need support in more nuanced and specific areas. Topics covered can include (but are not limited to):

  • Cultural considerations of working with transgender and gender-diverse clients (& how intersections with other marginalized identities influences treatment)

  • Foundations of voice intervention and possible targets/goal areas with gender-affirming voice therapy

  • Administering a comprehensive, identity-affirming, and client-centered assessment regardless of setting (telehealth, in-person, etc.)

  • Writing client-centered and identity-affirming S.M.A.R.T. treatment goals

  • Suggestions for intervention based on client goals, including mock treatment sessions and sample treatment schedules

  • Troubleshooting the "fine details" including working with insurance, billing, and creating sliding scales

Creating an Inclusive Clinical Space (for practice owners and clinicians)

This offering helps support individuals in a position of leadership within their clinic to create and maintain an environment that is inclusive to both clients and employees. â€‹â€‹

  • Development of practice-wide policies and procedures, from intake to discharge

  • Supporting different neurotypes and different models of learning

  • Creating a work environment that works with your clinician and employee's brains rather than against it

  • Incorporating executive function supports throughout your practice

  • Common accommodations and modifications, + how to brainstorm new ones to meet specific needs

  • Implementation of a sliding scale to increase accessibility without watching your practice go under

  • + more
